Here at Level Up Med Spa we are all about the IPL facial! Also known as the PhotoFacial, the IPL Facial uses Intense Pulsed Light Therapy to target specific skin concerns with great results!
The IPL technology uses pulses of light to treat melanin and red blood cells in the skin, heating and rejuvenating the skin. Not to be confused with a laser facial, an IPL facial releases light of many different wavelengths similar to a photo flash. Whereas a laser facial only releases one wavelength of light. This difference enables an IPL treatment to penetrate the second (dermis) layer of the skin without harming the top (epidermis) layer of the skin, causing less damage.
The pigment cells of the skin absorb the omitted light energy, converting it to heat. This heat removes the unwanted pigment to clear skin discoloration such as; dark spots, sun spots and or rosacea. A benefit to this innovative treatment is the very little downtime needed. Each treatment takes typically between 20-30 minutes. Though the treated area of the skin will likely be red and sensitive for a few hours following your treatment, you can resume your normal activities after.
Depending on the severity of the skin condition, our patients typically find their skin concerns gone with three to six treatments spread a month apart. The IPL Photofacial is a great option if you are looking to fade facial lines and rid yourself of age or sun spots. Thankfully the IPL treatments are much shorter sessions than the alternative treatment options, such as lasers. The recovery time is very fast and this treatment is much less abrasive to the top layer of skin than a laser alternative.
If you are looking to transform your skin without surgery or downtime, call us today to schedule your consultation for an IPL PhotoFacial and be on tryout way to better skin!
